Well, if they do not want to put Diaper Donny in jail, they could give him an ankle bracelet and confine him to a specific location even his current home.

This is great, Jonathan, to follow along as you keep us informed from your cat-bird seat. Are the witnesses being sworn-in on the Trump Bible?

P.S. I couldn't connect to your zoom the other night. Maybe I'm not listed as a paid subscriber? Sorry to have missed your underdeprived smile. Shelley Mickle

I really enjoy reading your articles and realize they may be posted in haste since you are attending a time-consuming trial. However, it is still good practice to proofread. Here there are double paragraphs, double negatives and double usage of excellent, but eye-catching words.

Jail time should be punishment for Trump, but he’d probably get a few minutes a couple of times a day to address the media in one of his mini-conferences! Of course, that’d be after he had eaten a meal delivered by a restaurant of his choosing! The scumbag will never get what he deserves!!!! Sickening, to say the least!

He won't remain silent. The press is another tool to him, and he will use it to challenge Merchan again. It's possible he thinks the judge will only warn him a third time, and if realized, Trump will spread that message using the press ... again.

Should Merchan hold him in contempt, and incarcerate him, Trump will use this punishment to galvanize his supporters ... by talking to the press ... again.

This man's narcissism causes him to detest accountability; in his mind, he can do no wrong. The rules ... they are for other people. And he will not allow anyone to get the better of him without retaliation. The challenges will have no end.

This is how narcissists operate. Trump's mind cannot let threats go unchallenged. His ego won't allow it. Expecting him to behave logically is unrealistic. Do not expect any normal responses to threats of incarceration.

You’ve assessed Trump spot on! He doesn’t have any sense of personal accountability. What’s disturbing is that the system allows him to get away with it!

I understand the intent behind the message, "the system allows him to get away with it!" And, many are frustrated with what is happening.

Personally, I refuse to personify the system and give it human characteristics outside of people. "The system" is inanimate; It doesn't allow anything.

Since it was created by people, is managed by people, and (not) enforced by people, the system is only a process created by choices of the imperfect people operating it.

Only people allow him to get away with it; tolerating abuse is also a choice. A better system would be the result of better choices made by people operating within it.

I'm sorry for being long-winded. I just can't downplay the role of people, even well-intended people, and those sworn to defend their client, and those who choose against their better judgement, in our troubling times.

Love your post. I hope Trump flaps his yap (wonderfully Chicago/midwest) so he gets a night in the slammer with three hots and a cot. Can’t wait to see his bald head and flap of comb over and his skin after a night there without his makeup.

As we all are aware, this trial is about fraud, not sex. The Day 12 testimony and exhibits, though tedious and dull, are still the foundation of the prosecution's case. We must therefore be thankful for the smooth, clear flow of the witnesses' testimony today.

Thank you for this update.

Trump will not, in the long run, escape conviction, in the court of public opinion if not in an actual court. He will learn that time wounds all heels.
