Talarico has about as much chance of winning as I do. Texas has been cheating on all of their elections since before the days of Lyndon Johnson when politicians held back districts. They would then call and ask for 500 votes, 1000 votes or whatever was needed. On top of that Talarico is already apologizing for calling god binary.
I wish I could share the optimism expressed in your article. What seems to be missing from many of the Substack pundits' writings is the fact that Trump candidates are beating established GOP members by very big margins. Donald Trump obviously still controls the GOP, and he is still, somehow, wildly popular with many Americans. I hope that the blue wave does occur in November, but I see a more sinister outcome being very likely: that not only does the Twit in Chief maintain a majority in both houses, but now those bodies are going to be even more firmly entrenched in MAGA idiots.
Today, Trump reached the lowest popularity ever recorded in the Economist polling average. For any president ever. 8% of eligible voters voted in the Texas primary last night, and almost half of those opposed Trump's preferred pedo. That's not enough to win a general election.

However, if a blue wave does materialize and the Democrats take the House and the Senate, and Trump‘s ratings continue on their downward path, might it not be possible that enough Republicans in the Senate could vote convict Trump in an impeachment trial?

I don’t trust the state of Texas to have a free and fair election. Not with Abbott and Paxton there.
